How to use:

Insert the rivet assembly through the hole drilled through the part to be joined and pull the mandrel into the rivet using a specially designed tool.

This enlarges the blind end of the rivet and then the mandrel falls off.

These types of blind rivets have non-locking mandrels and are sometimes avoided for critical structural joints because the mandrel may fall out due to vibration or other reasons, leaving a hollow rivet that has a lower load carrying capacity than a solid rivet.

Blind rivets are mainly used when the joint can only be accessed from one side.
